Treatment Philosophy:
My journey into physical therapy has been anything but ordinary, but it’s been incredibly rewarding. After earning my degree in the Netherlands in 2007, I moved to Washington State in 2013 to pursue both my passion for physical therapy and a new chapter in my life. What I didn’t expect was the challenge of having my international qualifications validated here in the U.S., which took four years of retaking exams, completing courses, and pushing through every obstacle. But in the end, not only did I succeed, but I also played a key role in rule changes, making it easier for future physical therapists from abroad to pursue their international adventure. Hard work and perseverance were key to my success, and I try to bring that same mindset to work every day. I strive to listen, learn, and empower my patients to meet their goals, and, if possible, to exceed them. I am a strong believer in patient collaboration, guiding my patients toward recovery and an improved quality of life. Celebrating victories with my patients – whether small or big – is absolutely the most rewarding part of it all.
Personal Interests:
When I’m not working, I love spending time outdoors, soaking in the beauty of all that the Pacific Northwest has to offer. I enjoy spending quality time with my friends, listening to music, traveling, or going to see a good show. And although the Netherlands and my family feel very far away, I’ve learned that what makes a place feel like home is the connections we make along the way.
